Satisfied by Sunset
by Phil LongWell, I intended to get up early this morning to take some photos – and went to bed thinking I had set my alarm for 6.45am (I was using my alarm clock rather than my iPhone for once – which proved to be a mistake). Unfortunately I woke at around 9am and discovered I’d set the alarm for 6.45pm; thus missing dawn. So, I settled down to watch football and did some washing to pass the time. Then, just before 4pm, I headed out to Littleborough and got the pictures below:
They’re both HDR (High Dynamic Range) and were produced from three shots with varying exposures (short/medium/long). This allows the detail of bright spots to be amalgamated with the detail on dark areas obtained through the longer exposure, and it’s pretty suited to sunsets.
There are more shots – just click the images above to be taken to Flickr.
I also took my day 41 today, for today’s Flickr Group Roulette theme of ‘My Favourite Word’ (or a word you like etc.). I went for ‘Satisfied’ written on the envelope of a bill:
